7 Signs That Tell You You’re Not Ready To Settle Down

Marriage is one of the most difficult yet beautiful commitments and once you’re in, you’re in it for life. Some people make marriage seem as easy as cutting a piece of cake while some make it look like the most difficult thing a person can get into.

We all know marriage is no child’s play. It takes a lot of effort and commitment from both the parties involved and it is not for everybody. So if you’re not 100% sure about tieing the knot, maybe you should consider stepping down. And if you’re still confused, here are 7 signs that tell you-you’re not ready to settle down.

1. You Have Trust Issues.

It’s absolutely important for you to trust the person you’re about to marry. Communication is the key to a healthy relationship and if you’re having unnecessary doubts, you need to talk it out. But if you’re the kind that has no chill and who always have doubts maybe you should think a little more before settling down.

2. You’re Constantly Fighting.

People say what’s a relationship if you don’t have a few arguments every now and then. You get angry over silly things and your partner tries cheering you up, that might seem cute. But if you’re constantly arguing and those tiny arguments turn into big fights every time, then you might need to reconsider walking down the aisle. Fighting constantly over things that don’t even need much attention is a sign of an unhealthy relationship and you need to end it before someone seriously gets hurt.

3. You Have Different Long-Term Goals.

It is very important in a relationship to know where it’s going and where is it headed. You might be happy and satisfied for now but do you have the same goals and visions your partner do? You decided you want to be together forever but neither of you thinks the same way. He wants to move someplace else and build up his business whereas you want to stay where you are and start a family right away. That doesn’t speak relationship to anyone and it clearly suggests you’re not ready to spend the rest of your life with them.

4. You Don’t Want To Compromise.

Marriage is not just about being with someone you love, it’s about knowing what’s best for the both of you and compromising. But if you’re not willing to compromise and give in, you’re not ready for marriage. Compromise is the pillar of a healthy marriage and if you don’t build strong pillars, you’re house won’t stand even minor storms.

5. You’re Keeping Secrets.

Being in a marriage means being open about everything. Knowing tiniest of details about your partner is very important to have a healthy married life as it helps you know their strengths and weaknesses and work accordingly. But if you keep secrets from your partner, it’s very difficult to sustain a healthy relationship. So if you’re not ready to reveal the nastiest of details to your partner, then you’re not ready to spend your life with them.

6. You’re Partner Isn’t Financially Independent.

Love, trust, compromise, and communication are not the only things that make a marriage work. It’s important in a marriage that your partner is financially stable and is able to support a family. And if they’re not there to support you financially, the marriage surely won’t work.

7. You’re Not Sure If They’re The One.

It’s normal to have second thoughts about marriage before tying the knot every once in a while. But if you’re not 100% sure about your relationship than you should not enter a marriage. You’ll eventually end up separated sooner if you don’t feel like they’re the one.
