Arnold Schwarzenegger has started filming the 6th installment of the Terminator movie series. The previous series is “The Terminator” released in 1984, Terminator 2: Judgement Day: 1991, Terminator 3: 2003, Terminator Salvation: 2009 & Terminator Genisys: 2015
After Deadpool 2, director Tim Miller steered his focus toward a new Terminator film. Allegedly, Schwarzneggar is on set filming his scenes alongside Lina Hamilton who’s playing the role of Sara Conner in the movie.
The news was revealed in a video where Schwarzenegger expresses his support for prime minister Fiji Frank Bainimarama.
In the video post, explaining his absence, Schwarzenegger goes on to say “I’m sorry I cannot be with you but I’m currently shooting Terminator 6 and so this is why I’m not there,” spilling the tea about the upcoming film.
Joining the team will be Diego Luna, who will be playing a newer model of the Terminator.
Other than the video post, Schwarzenegger has nice things to say about director Tim Miller and the upcoming Terminator film.
“I think Cameron and [director Tim] Miller came up with a concept where they can continue on with the T-800 but make a whole new movie,”
“What they are doing now with this one is basically to just take a few very basic characters, like Linda Hamilton’s character and my character, and dismiss everything else. Just move away from all these rules of the timeline and other characters.”
James Cameron talked about how the new Terminator reboot will be different all the previous series.
“We’re developing a new Terminator film. And The Terminator films are all about artificial intelligence. But I would say we’re looking at it differently than when I wrote the first story in 1982,” Cameron said.
“That was just your classic ‘technology bad, smart computers bad’ kind of thing. Nowadays though — it’s got to be a much more nuanced perspective. So its ‘Smart computers bad… BUT…’ That’s the new motif.”
Terminator 6 is rumored to hit the theatres around November of 2019.
